The Southern Fells are home to four of the seven Furths that comprise England's six highest summits, including Scafell Pike which is the highest in the country. The peaks that line the high ridge of the Scafell Massif are the loftiest remains of a long-extinct volcano.
This view, from a position somewhere above Harter Fell, incorporates not only the highest peaks of the Southern Fells but also the summits of Skiddaw and Helvellyn, the two English Furths that lie beyond the Scafell Massif.
Elevations are shown in meters.
