Russia's highest mountain is massive and imposing, a double-peaked dormant stratovolcano that is also the highest volcano in all of Eurasia. The glaciers that flow down its flanks cloak the mountain in white year-round as it towers above the rest of the Caucasus Mountains.
This view presents a version of the most common view of Elbrus, seen from the north, but with an elevated vantage point to allow for glimpses of the lower peaks that lie around and behind it along the border between Russia and Georgia.
Elevations are shown in meters.
